So what now?

So what does this mean for us?

We thought we had more time to figure out our plans, like 8 weeks, but the business closing is happening faster than expected. We have 2 weeks to make a plan. We have to be out of India before the business closes. We are once again selling everything and packing into 10 suitcases. Flights within India charge for bags and since we are paying our own way home, we had to ship our luggage freight to save money. We will retrieve them in Delhi where major airlines include them in their ticket price.

We were fortunate to sell all our furniture quickly. We were told that Indians don’t buy used items. Despite this, we were able to sell our furniture within one week. Thankfully the beds were bought by someone we knew so we got to use them until we left.  We sold everything at half what we paid for it and gifted everything else away.

We don’t have a house in Idaho so don’t have a place to come back to. We also gave up our jobs when we left. Dennis previous job was filled, so we aren’t headed back to Gooding. Without jobs and household items, we've decided to live in Las Vegas with Dennis’ brother until we get things figured out. For now, the kids will continue online school until the new semester starts. We plan to be there for the spring semester until a long term plan is determined.  We will look for jobs and Dennis is also considering going back to BYU for his MBA. So much is undetermined. We are glad to get to spend the holidays with our families.  Thanks to everyone who has offered their homes, financial assistance, and prayers.  We know it was our time to leave as everything fell into place so quickly.  It wasn't the narrative that we had written, but God will continue to provide a way!

As the business will be closed, the prospects of us returning are unknown. We do hope to get tourist visas so we can come back with our friends to attend the Bangalore temple when it opens.  Everyone kept asking us when we would be back to see them again.

We weren’t leaving the country without seeing what it was most famous for. Thankfully our departure flights left from 3.5 hours away from the Taj Mahal and we were able to make the day trip. The air quality was awful, but the palace was still impressive.  The number of tourists was down so the experience was amazing!
