Summer fun

First, we want to thank everyone for your calls and messages.  We are alive, well and healthy.  We are taking the necessary precautions and stockpiling for lockdowns.  While the US is blocking flights from India, US citizens are allowed to return on available flights.  We aren’t planning to return right now for a smorgasbord of reasons.  Please keep everyone in your prayers.

Before current curfews and various lockdowns, we were able to accomplish a few tasks.  Nick completed all his mission paperwork and we are awaiting his call.  When we visited the dentist office, they asked him to give a video testimonial for their website.  When it is posted, we will share.  He also had his health physical.  No one wanted to sign his papers as it had our church’s name on it and they were worried about repercussions.  He finally found a clinic that would see him.  It ended up being a children’s and women’s reproductive health hospital.  You can imaging the looks as Dennis and Nick entered a waiting room of women with their babies.

It’s been in the high 90s in the day and only cools to 75 at night. There is never a breeze, so we have trouble cooling the house down. To try and help, we covered our sliding doors with aluminum foil.

I just love the way Tamil looks when written.  Sanskrit is beautiful.  (I have no idea what this article says)

Before the clubhouse was closed, the boys and I went to the gym each morning at 6.  We had it all to ourselves.  Ben is taking a weight lifting class for school.  It’s been interesting trying to complete it now without any weights.  He’s resorted to body weight exercises.

We also were able to use the other facilities including the pool table.

Friends from our branch opened their own snack shop.  We love the veg rice, chili gobi, and Manchurian chicken.

Of course, one of the air conditioners started leaking water.  Nothing is done quickly and it took awhile to get someone to come clean and repair it. During that time, the kids all had to sleep in one room. It’s too hot to not have air at night.

We still are in amazement when we see what they carry on a motorcycle. This guy is asking for his head to be taken off.

The beauty outside our front door.
