This week in India

With the pandemic still making things interesting, we haven’t been able to take the kids to see anything local.  We hear that after our local elections, another lockdown will be considered.  The last one lasted several months.  Many places are still closed and there isn’t a lot by us.  Indians work several jobs and it’s typical to put in 12-16 hours days 6 days a week.  Children also go to school 6 days a week, so there isn’t much time for fun and adventure.  We have been busy with Dennis’ job and our church callings.  Here are some photos of what we have seen lately:
Houses can be very colorful

We made it to our branch this week. We are on the 2nd floor of a bank.

There are 2 kinds of bikes- 2 and 3 wheelers. Most are really rusty for the monsoons.  Check out that kickstand.

This is a wedding shop in the mall.  Reminds me of Aladdin.

Trees everywhere. We are in summer right now. 93-97 in the day and low 70s at night.

Emma’s ukulele needs fixed.  The shop had this fun instrument.

These are the public restrooms.

Pavilion set up for a local celebration.

The lane lined with houses

For homeschool, Emma and Liam had to make some Viking ware. They have had fun each day now designing fake cakes out of play dough.

Fire extinguishing equipment at the movie theater.  Each movie has an intermission. We went to Tom and Jerry.

Enjoying the shade from the heat.

Washing clothes on the rocks

The gorgeous view from our Branch President’s clinic

Three men drilling for a house build

This is a two way road. Parking is crazy hard to find.

The local temple that was renovated.

We’ve been walking in the evenings and enjoying the sunsets!!
