The Mountains
A weekend in January, we were able to take a trip as a family up to the mountains outside of town. It was a beautiful drive. There were trees and fields everywhere.
The road wound around the sides of the mountains. Some of the hillsides were carved into terraces for planting crops. The funniest things we saw were signs telling us to watch out for crossing elephants. We didn’t see any though. From what we hear, they mostly are around at dusk.
We also passed several brick making areas like the ones below. The area between town and the mountain is a large area for brick making. The bricks are formed and dried. There are tall chimneys where some are baked. Then they are stored under a roof to prevent cracking from the direct sunlight.
