Reason We Moved
Many have asked why we were moving half way around the world. No, seriously it’s exactly half way around from where we lived!
Some have naturally assumed it was for our church. We belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Members volunteer to serve as missionaries in various countries to share more about what we believe. You may have heard earlier this year about the mass effort to bring 50% of the 67,000 missionaries home to their native countries because of the pandemic.
Young men serve for 2 years. Young women serve for 18 months. Retired couples can choose to serve for any amount of time up to 2 years. Missionaries fund their own missions and are not paid for their service. Sometimes younger couples with children are asked to serve as mission presidents to oversee these missionaries.
Although we would love to and are looking forward to serving missions as a couple, it is Dennis’ work that brought us here. My husband has traveled overseas to various countries the past 5 years looking to import dairy equipment to the USA.
In 2018, he began outsourcing some products from India. In 2019 while on a business trip, he was presented with the opportunity to form a partnership centered out of India making metal parts and shipping them to other countries.
That’s how Dynahex LLP was formed. It’s a partnership of 6 men from the US and India with manufacturing experience. They specialize in dairy equipment. His business partner in India lives in Ludhiana, which is in Northern India. We live in Coimbatore, which is in Southern. We are working to expand the business in both areas.
