So what now?
So what does this mean for us? We thought we had more time to figure out our plans, like 8 weeks, but the business closing is happening faster than expected. We have 2 weeks to make a plan. We have to be out of India before the business closes. We are once again selling everything and packing into 10 suitcases. Flights within India charge for bags and since we are paying our own way home, we had to ship our luggage freight to save money. We will retrieve them in Delhi where major airlines include them in their ticket price. We were fortunate to sell all our furniture quickly. We were told that Indians don’t buy used items. Despite this, we were able to sell our furniture within one week. Thankfully the beds were bought by someone we knew so we got to use them until we left. We sold everything at half what we paid for it and gifted everything else away. We don’t have a house in Idaho so don’t have a place to come back to. We also gave up our jobs when we left.
